Description of Service

AI Study Pilot offers an AI-powered platform to help you study more effectively. Key features of the Service include:

• Generating flashcards and quiz questions based on content you provide (such as your notes or textbook excerpts).
• Tracking your study progress and performance over time (for example, which flashcards you’ve mastered or your quiz scores).
• Providing personalized study assistance through automated tools.

The Service is intended for personal, educational use. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or that the AI-generated content will be error-free. Always double-check important information against reliable sources.

Account Registration and Security

To use most features, you need to create an account:

• Registration: You can sign up with an email address and password, or use Google Sign-In. You must provide accurate information (a valid email, etc.) and keep it updated.
• Password: If you create a password, choose a strong and unique one. You are responsible for protecting your password and account. Do not share your login credentials.
• Google Login: If you use Google to log in, ensure your Google account is secure. We rely on Google to authenticate your identity.
• Account Security: Notify us immediately (via the contact form) if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account. We cannot be responsible for losses if you fail to safeguard your account.
• Age Requirement: By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and legally able to use this Service. If you are under 16, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

User Content and Conduct

Using our Service involves submitting your own study materials and interacting with AI-generated content. We expect you to use the Service responsibly:

• Your Content: You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as text or files). However, by uploading content, you give us permission (a license) to use it as needed to provide the Service. For example, we will process your text through our AI to create flashcards or quizzes. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we won’t use it outside of providing the Service.
• Legal Use of Content: You are responsible for ensuring your uploaded content doesn’t violate any laws or anyone’s rights. Do not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, infringes intellectual property rights, or violates privacy. Only use materials that you have the right to use for study.
• Prohibited Behavior: When using the app, do not:
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to promote unlawful activities.
  • Upload or share content that is offensive, threatening, or that constitutes harassment or hate speech.
  • Send spam, repetitive messages, or unsolicited advertising via the Service.
  • Attempt to disrupt or hack the Service (for example, by introducing viruses or bypassing security measures).
  • Misuse the AI tools (for instance, attempting to generate disallowed or malicious content).
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Content Moderation: We do not pre-screen all content, but we reserve the right to review and remove content that violates these Terms or the law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that engage in prohibited behavior or post illegal content.

You understand that any study materials or AI-generated outputs you obtain through the Service are used at your own risk. We strive for accuracy and helpfulness, but the AI may occasionally produce incorrect or inappropriate results. Use your judgment and let us know if you encounter problematic content.

Payments and Subscriptions

Right now, AI Study Pilot is free to use. In the future, we may introduce an optional premium subscription for advanced features:

• Planned Premium Features: We plan to offer a premium tier (approximately €19.99 per month) with additional features or content. This premium service is not yet available in the MVP.
• Payment Processing: When premium features launch, payments will be handled by Stripe. If you choose to subscribe, you’ll provide payment details through Stripe’s secure system. Stripe will process your payment information, and their terms and privacy policy will apply. We will not store your credit card information on our servers.
• No Refund Policy (Tentative): At this stage, we anticipate that subscription payments will be non-refundable. This means if you cancel a premium subscription, we likely will not provide refunds for any unused period of that subscription. (We will clarify the refund policy once the premium service is officially introduced.)
• Changes to Fees: Subscription pricing is subject to change. If we change the price of the premium service, we will give subscribers advance notice. New prices would apply at the start of the next billing cycle after the notice.

Since no premium service is active yet, you will not be charged any fees unless you explicitly sign up for a paid plan in the future.

Termination of Use

Both you and we have the right to end your use of the Service:

• Your Choice: You can stop using the app at any time. You may also delete your account if you wish. (If you want all your data removed, see our Privacy Policy for how to request deletion of your data.)
• Our Rights: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, violate applicable laws, or engage in behavior that harms other users or the integrity of the Service. We may also terminate or suspend the Service as a whole (for example, if we decide to shut down the pilot).
• Effect of Termination: If your account is terminated (whether by you or us), your right to use the Service stops immediately. We may delete the content and data associated with your account. However, we might retain certain information if required by law or for legitimate business reasons (see our Privacy Policy).
• Liability for Termination: We are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from suspension or termination of your access, provided we act lawfully. In other words, if we end your access because you violated the Terms or we discontinue the service, you agree that you won’t hold us responsible for that decision.

Changes to the Service and Terms

Our service will evolve over time, and so may these Terms:

• Service Changes: We may add, modify, or remove features of the app at any time as we improve the product. We may also decide to discontinue the Service (especially since this is a pilot). When possible, we will inform you of major changes or an impending shutdown (for example, by posting a notice in the app or sending an email).
• Updates to Terms: We can update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users (via the app or email). Once updated Terms are posted and you’ve been notified, they will take effect. By continuing to use the Service after a Terms update, you agree to the new Terms.
• Disagreement with Changes: If you don’t agree with the new changes to the Service or Terms, you should stop using the app and you may delete your account if you wish.

Disclaimers of Warranty

AI Study Pilot is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Because this is an early-stage MVP (and a free service), please note:

• We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or without errors. You might encounter occasional interruptions, bugs, or inaccuracies as we refine the app.
• We do not guarantee that the study materials or answers generated by the AI will be correct or suitable for your needs. The AI is a tool to assist you, but it’s not infallible.
• No Warranty: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express or implied) about the Service, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent allowed by law, AI Study Pilot and its operators will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. This includes things like loss of data, loss of profits, or other similar damages, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last six months, if anything (and if you haven’t paid anything, this liability is zero). Since the Service is currently free, you shouldn’t expect to receive compensation for any issues beyond what is required by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. For example, if applicable law in your country does not allow certain liability limitations for consumers, those limitations would not apply to you in those cases. These Terms do not affect any rights you have under consumer protection laws.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and by applicable EU laws. This means that in any dispute between you and us related to these Terms or the Service, Swedish law will apply. If a dispute goes to court, it will be handled by the courts of Sweden, unless otherwise required by the laws of your country.
