Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how AI Study Pilot uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store information. We use cookies to ensure our site works properly and to analyze how users interact with it.
We categorize the cookies we use as follows:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be turned off (otherwise key features of the service would break). They do not require your consent. Essential cookies we use include:
- Session Cookies: These cookies keep you logged in as you move through the app. For example, when you log into AI Study Pilot, a session cookie (containing a unique session ID) is set so you don’t have to re-login on every page. This cookie is typically erased when you log out or close your browser.
- Security Cookies (CSRF): We set a cookie with a CSRF token (a random value) to protect against cross-site request forgery attacks on forms. This cookie ensures that only you can submit forms from your account. It contains no personal info and is essential for secure operations on the site.
- reCAPTCHA: We use Google reCAPTCHA on certain forms (like sign-up and contact forms) to prevent spam and abuse by bots. reCAPTCHA may set an essential cookie or use other methods to determine that you are human. This is considered an essential security function. (Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.)
Without these essential cookies, core parts of the site would not work properly. Therefore, they are always active when you use the app.
Analytics and Advertising Cookies
These non-essential cookies are used only if you give consent. They help us understand how users use our site and track conversions from our marketing efforts.
- Google Analytics Cookies: These cookies (set by Google) collect information about how visitors interact with our site. For example, they tell us which pages are visited, how long users stay, and which features are used. We use this information to make the app better.
- Google Ads Cookies: These cookies help us measure when a user who clicked on our ad completes a valuable action on our site, such as signing up or viewing key pages. This allows us to understand the effectiveness of our ads and improve our marketing efforts.
- We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses where possible, meaning part of your IP is masked to protect your privacy.
- The data collected via these cookies is shared with Google in aggregate form. We do not receive personally identifying information like your name or email from these cookies.
By default, unless you accept analytics cookies, we do not load Google Analytics or Google Ads tracking on your device.
Your Choices: Cookie Consent
When you first visit our site, you’ll see a cookie consent banner. This banner lets you choose:
- “Essential Only”: Select this to decline all non-essential cookies. We will then use only the essential cookies needed for the site to function, and no analytics cookies will be set.
- “Accept All”: Select this to consent to our use of analytics cookies in addition to the essential ones. This allows us to enable Google Analytics and gather usage statistics.
If you take no action on the banner and continue using the site, we will assume you prefer Essential Only by default (no analytics cookies). Your choice will be remembered for future visits.
Changing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- If you initially accepted analytics cookies but later want to opt out, you can clear the cookies in your browser for our site. This will reset your preference, and the consent banner will appear again so you can choose “Essential Only.”
- Conversely, if you originally declined analytics but later decide to help us with usage analytics, you can also clear cookies to get the banner again, or adjust settings if we provide an in-app option.
- Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies via your browser settings may cause certain parts of the site to not work (for example, you might not be able to stay logged in without session cookies).
Third-Party Cookies and Services
Some of the cookies on our site are first-party (set by AI Study Pilot), and some are third-party (set by external services):
- First-party cookies: These include the session cookie and CSRF cookie, which are set by our own domain (the AI Study Pilot site). They are used only by us.
- Third-party cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies under its domain to gather analytics data, Google Ads sets cookies to track conversions, and Google reCAPTCHA may set a cookie to perform bot detection. We have agreements and settings in place with Google to ensure these services comply with GDPR (for example, the Google Analytics Data Processing Amendment is in place, and IP anonymization is enabled).
All cookie data is used as described in this policy and is not sold or shared for purposes outside of the stated analytics and conversion tracking.
Updates to this Policy
We may update our Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or to comply with legal requirements. If the changes are significant, we will provide a prominent notice (such as a banner or notification on the site).
